Eye Strain

I owe a few of you email responses, but due to eye strain (which is due to my new glasses), I avoided the computer last night and spent the evening in semidarkness. I'm going back to the eye doctor on Friday to see what can be done about these dratted glasses. In the meantime, please be patient. If I haven't answered your email, I will in the next day or so, or over the weekend at the latest.

I hope the eye doc has some suggestions. I know my mom had to go with regular glasses and reading glasses for a couple of years before she could do bi-focals.

Then there was the time that the dizzy office put the lenses in my glasses opposite where they belonged...actually that has happened to me twice.

Right now, I'm wearing the old glasses. No issues, except reading small print, and even then I can slide my glasses down my nose and do OK. Or I can remove my glasses altogether, but I have to hold what I'm reading right in front of my face.

I think sometimes eye doctors get too agressive. I would definitely prefer to do without crisp distance vision for a few years until my nose is no longer long enough. :)

Take care of yourself. Computers are terrible for eyestrain, but it's so hard to stay away! {Smile}

Make them double check the prescription. I once got new glasses and got horrible headaches...turned out they'd put in the wrong prescription. Grrr...

When I switched to bifocals, I got the progressives--3 different levels, no lines. I love them--but it took me over 6 weeks for my eyes to adjust (well, my brain, really, since it actually has to learn how to use the new glasses), and they were a dreadful 6 weeks. Love 'em now, though.

Hope they can fix you up!

Much better today, although I was out until 8. Deborah, mine are progressives. They asked me to give it two months. It still didn't help. I was looking through a blurry spot with my right eye. Hopefully the eye doctor can figure out what's going on tomorrow. Maybe progressives just aren't for me.
