It's a playful book, with the story being changed before our eyes or important elements being simply removed from the story because of the war between the listener and the hearer. Think of it as a weird combination of Goldman's The Princess Bride and Nabokov's Pale Fire. It's been fun to write. -CCarole McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15443401088634718848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5195356832263192713.post-19037351447111598032008-10-17T05:54:00.000-04:002008-10-17T05:54:00.000-04:00Thanks, SciFiGuy! There never was any question about your talent. I loved the way you created your social structure in WIND FOLLOWER, I just wish that there would have been less pain between us. In any event, you go, tell the world what God has laid upon your heart the way He tells you to do so with the gift He has given you. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

(David and the CFRB)Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14949239112166623708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5195356832263192713.post-43373429650315346972008-10-16T16:25:00.000-04:002008-10-16T16:25:00.000-04:00Thanks, everyone! Thanks so much. Hi Edifanob, ...Hi Daya and Grayson. Thanks so much. Hi Edifanob, actually I don't know if there's such a term. I was writing and I just kinda wrote that. But there is a term called Sword and Soul which was coined by Charles Saunders to define sword and sorcery flicks that take place in Africa. And I think Steven Barnes' Lion's Blood would be Sword and Soul alternate history. There are many Black writers who write Fantasy. Nnedi Okafor Mbuchu's Zahrah the Wind Seeker is wonderful. As are writings by Nalo Hopkinson, and Milton Davis. And Minister Faust and Tobias Buckell who both write afrocentric science fiction. And Tananarive Due, who writes horror. All these writers from the African diaspora write specfic of some kind. I'm just pleased that so many of them have been so kind to me this past year. I'm beginning to feel comfortable being listed among them.Carole McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15443401088634718848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5195356832263192713.post-19132216164649666072008-10-16T14:39:00.000-04:002008-10-16T14:39:00.000-04:00Good idea Tia.Carole, a very impressive post. This ...Good idea Tia.

Carole, a very impressive post.
This is the first time I read the term Black Fantasy.
